Flyaway Pictures

I got my start in the world of photography while I was completing my business degree at the University of South Florida.  With a few gaps in my daily class schedule, I decided to take some additional classes in the School of Fine Arts.  The art classes were a welcomed diversion from the intensity of my business school studies.  I so enjoyed the art classes, photography in particular, that I completed all the necessary requirements for a minor in fine arts- never thinking that I would ever use these skills professionally.  My first job out of college was at Tampa's most prestigious advertising agency, West Group, where I worked in the creative department, in print production, for almost five adventurous and memorable years while working with such great clients as Publix Supermarkets and Outback Steakhouse.

After graduation, I rarely picked up my camera until I had my first child. My advertising career took a back seat as I chose to be Director of Operations for my growing family as my husband traveled a great deal at that time. Enamored with the beauty and simplicity of baby chunks, I started taking black and white photos of my infant daughter. From then on I began a modest business in children's portraiture.  At times my photography business seemed to take on a life of its own.  From babies to candy boxes to head shots to custom jewelry- I think I've shot a little bit of everything!  A further sampling of my portfolio is available upon request.
